Heat Wave

Heat wave is a 2D side scrolling shoot'em upgame.
About: You play a smoldering charred head of fire. The planet is being invaded by magical evil mutated ice cubes. If Ice takes over the world then all of the curry will be frozen. You love curry, but frozen curry is unacceptable. Go out and defeat the ice folks and defend the flavor of curry with your flamming heart.
Development: This was one of my first game projects I undertook. It was made in Adobe Flash and I spent nearly six months on it. Although I knew C++, the game ran on actionschipt code which I knew nothing of. I found my self reconstructing the game over and over to get it right. It wasn't until I played with the code enough that I was able to understand more of what I could do. I based the development off of a flash shooter tutorial. I wanted to take what I learned and make it my own.
Software: Adobe Flash cs4, actionscript2
Overall: For the most part I designed all 2D graphics and animation. All music is credited to Jun Ishikawa's kirby tracks.
